Suzanne Mohnani

For the past sixteen years, I have worked in education, working with students, educators, and parents at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. In 2014, I was awarded a Master Degree in Counselling from the University of Malta, and in 2021 I attained a certificate in Counselling Supervision from the same University. For the past eight years, I have worked as a counsellor at St Aloysius College Sixth Form, a post-secondary Jesuit-run institution, counselling young persons and liaising with parents and other professionals. Last year, I was appointed Assistant Head of School, focusing primarily on the Social and Emotional Wellbeing of both the students and our school staff. As Assistant Head, I coordinate the Personal Development Programme for our youths and the Positive Discipline Programme of our college's Primary, Secondary and Post-secondary schools. I also give training to teachers and parents. For the past twenty years, I have taken a deep interest in the psychology of Alfred Adler, adopting Adlerian techniques in my counselling work. As a counsellor in private practice, my aim has always been to help my clients regain well-being and balance in their lives as they navigate different challenging life situations. This is achieved by offering my clients a safe space to work through their issues in a non-judgemental and respectful environment. My approach is client-centered, encouraging self-discovery, empowerment, and a sense of agency. I firmly believe that counselling can have a profound impact on the lives of individuals. My client group consists mainly of professionals in different fields, couples, parents, and adolescents.
